Following the episode's airing, it was banned from airing on Cartoon Network and was excluded from the Season 1 DVD and online media streaming services, in which it was replaced with the season 2 episode "Dexter's Lab: A Story".

It was widely speculated that the Silver Spooner, the henchman of Barbequor, was a stereotypical gay man as well as Krunk getting drunk of liquor near the end of the episode.

However, this episode was included when the Season 1 DVD released in Region 4.

In reality, the writers received copyright infringement threats from Marvel Comics over the Silver Spooner being a misuse of the Silver Surfer.
